The Australia Panel 3 (AP3)

BookScan's Australia Panel 3 was launched in December 2002 after two years of panel expansion. In 2003 its value was $848 million, covering 85% of all retail trade sales to consumers in Australia. In 2002, Australia Panel 3 was ring fenced ie., no additional retailers will be added to the AP3 panel to allow for year-on-year, like-for-like comparisons.

Australia Panel 3 is the basis for the National Bestseller Charts for the media.

BookScan has a TCM (Total Consumer Market) panel for the Australian market which contains the retailers contributing data to AP3, PLUS additional outlets selling books such as supermarkets, religious bookstores, newsagents, internet etc.
